The puzzle wasn't hard, he told himself, and it certainly wasn't impossible. No, in fact, he knew the solution but he just wasn't going to play without Chelldon. He repeated that out loud, telling Tyler that his training course was very lack luster. He did not need to be taught to jump. Or to use the Apperture Science Portal Making Device.
In all actuality, Wheatley just couldn't figure out why the portals weren't working because he'd forgotten that he could actually switch colours to allow him to place two portals on the walls.
He just kept firing one over and over... 'To check how the gun was working.' "Safety first, Tyler!" he said before Chelldon pretty much literally dropped down on him. "AAAH!"

Date: 2012-05-10 10:48 am (UTC)There was plenty versions of him and it did raise some very life change ideas about what he'd done and if he was the original or if he was just disposable and would be brought back as a clone.
But, instead, He decided not too and simply turned to Wheatley.
Pointing out himself, he smirked. "Best one."

Date: 2012-05-10 11:00 am (UTC)"You're absolutely the best one." He flicked the glass of one of the male Chelldon clones and frowned. "But why do you have extra bodies and they didn't make any more of me? Oh, I suppose I could be redownloaded into a sphere but-- Well, I had been nearly bloody useless!"
Technically, he still was.

Date: 2012-05-10 11:52 am (UTC)It was an oddly simple plan when he looked at it properly.
"Clone?" Chelldon suggested with a frown, why couldn't they try and clone Wheatleys body? Or hire someone to construct another one. Either way, he was sure that he could make it work.

"And speaking of truly terrible cheese smells, we really should find Hunt. And Him. Or say, I could take a go at being in control? I could! Cake every day, no need to praise me. I'd be a benevolent ruler."

Date: 2012-05-10 02:25 pm (UTC)He dismissed Hunt because he was in that test area somewhere probably pissing Tyler off. Which was correct, he was just standing there telling Tyler wrong protocol and laughing when he corrected it or stubbornly refusing to believe him. It was good for short fusing pesking cores.
Chelldon shot another portal, knowing Wheatley wouldn't notice their gradual ascent.
It was all about finding that humanised killing machine now.

Date: 2012-05-10 05:25 pm (UTC)He just...he had Chelldon to look after so he really couldn't divide his attention do much.
"And do I need to remind you about the neurotoxins? Awful stuff. I mean, I could bathe in it and be just fine, but you? Well no, technically you could as well but we'd had to leave that 'just fine' part off at the end!"

Date: 2012-05-10 05:44 pm (UTC)GLaDOS had been cut off from everything he had so it was easier to get to him now and then they would kill him later. All they had to do was to make sure they got rid of neurotoxins before they put GLaDOS in charge and then it would all be much easier to cope with instead of just trying to bring him down manually.
"Neurotoxin where?"
They could find it then surely they could just stop it or override the procedure or stop it. That way no one could ever use it on them again!

Date: 2012-05-11 11:03 am (UTC)Beaming at himself, Wheatley was far more amicable when his ego was boosted and it showed. His smile was really rather fetching when he wasn't actually trying-- Or being creepy. He adjusted his glasses and leaned over the catwalk railing.
"In the fifteenth sub basement. Just by the neurotoxin control room. Let's get GLaDOS first. He has the over ride codes." And so does Tyler.

Date: 2012-05-11 01:17 pm (UTC)It took three tries to get into the right testing area both without Tyler seeing them and without being caught.
They soon landed on a platform and just below them was the flailing form of GLaDOS. It seemed a bird had gotten in and was trying to peck his head off! Chelldon leapt down and scared the bird away by flapping his own arms.
He knew how to deal with birds... all thanks to Wheatley.

Date: 2012-05-11 07:57 pm (UTC)"Off! Oh God, it's corrosive! I can feel it eating through my clothes! My skin is synthetic too! Help! Help! I'm going to be reduced to a bit of wire and human hair and glasses frames!"
Why he didn't think his hair or glasses would corrode? Well, no idea there. It just sounded good to whimper about.

Date: 2012-05-11 08:13 pm (UTC)"I hope you're both very happy with yourselves. I knew you were made to do some stupid things but this has to be the worst. You are your pet subject have no idea what you've done."
Chelldon merely frowned before looking at Wheatley.
He was very lucky that odds were that Wheatley would never connect the dots nor would he work out that he was made to be a giant moron... Chelldon didn't want to break that illusion for him either.

Date: 2012-05-11 08:25 pm (UTC)He still wanted to keep the lime light for himself, so tacked on a: "I've managed to prepare him quite well for his lessons," at the very end of that, somewhat muttered because he didn't want to be a glory hog.
"And all you've done is taught us about smashing plates and neurotoxins!"
