The puzzle wasn't hard, he told himself, and it certainly wasn't impossible.  No, in fact, he knew the solution but he just wasn't going to play without Chelldon.  He repeated that out loud, telling Tyler that his training course was very lack luster.  He did not need to be taught to jump.  Or to use the Apperture Science Portal Making Device.

In all actuality, Wheatley just couldn't figure out why the portals weren't working because he'd forgotten that he could actually switch colours to allow him to place two portals on the walls.

He just kept firing one over and over...  'To check how the gun was working.'  "Safety first, Tyler!" he said before Chelldon pretty much literally dropped down on him.  "AAAH!"

Chelldon frowned deeply as he looked around, there was hundreds of relaxation chambers and everyone he looked in either had his face or a females face. It was kind of jarring and he wasn't sure if it was like that all over or just these ones... but it was strange to actually look at himself.

There was plenty versions of him and it did raise some very life change ideas about what he'd done and if he was the original or if he was just disposable and would be brought back as a clone.

But, instead, He decided not too and simply turned to Wheatley.

Pointing out himself, he smirked. "Best one."

Wheatley actually took the time to consider that, which, in the end, was likely a truly lovely thing to do as he didn't just come right out with an affirmative answer but really, truly thought about it. Then again, thinking wasn't exactly Wheatley's strong suit. He was, after all, made specifically to be an intelligence dampener.

"You're absolutely the best one." He flicked the glass of one of the male Chelldon clones and frowned. "But why do you have extra bodies and they didn't make any more of me? Oh, I suppose I could be redownloaded into a sphere but-- Well, I had been nearly bloody useless!"

Technically, he still was.

Chelldon grinned proudly and nodded his head, he was the best one and he knew that, he didn't even need Wheatley to tell him. He had beaten the monkey and defeated GLaDOS... granted he put Tyler in charge but he would soon remove that know it all and get the evil machine back into power. Then he could kill it.

It was an oddly simple plan when he looked at it properly.

"Clone?" Chelldon suggested with a frown, why couldn't they try and clone Wheatleys body? Or hire someone to construct another one. Either way, he was sure that he could make it work.

"Oh, that's really very nice of you to let me use one of yours but I think I would die from the smell, never able to get away from it... But like stale sausages and a bit of cheese. I suppose that's why you lot have showers but in case you've forgotten, I'm an android, and I really ought to not get wet." Nevermind that in an organic body, it wouldn't matter-- He gestured for Chelldon to keep up as he lectured him about all of the foul things that grew on exposed skin. "I suppose that's why humans are the best for testing. They literally excude science, right on their hands. Just excuuuude. It's really pretty disgusting and--"

Through a portal, and out on top of a catwalk two stories up. Wheatley never even registered it.

"And speaking of truly terrible cheese smells, we really should find Hunt. And Him. Or say, I could take a go at being in control? I could! Cake every day, no need to praise me. I'd be a benevolent ruler."

"GLaDOS," Chelldon insisted with a stubborn frown because they needed to go and get him now, they needed to put him back and now he had no real power, it was all a matter of beating him to a pulp or something if he tried to have a mini uprising. It wouldn't be too hard to get all the pieces, it was just putting them together.

He dismissed Hunt because he was in that test area somewhere probably pissing Tyler off. Which was correct, he was just standing there telling Tyler wrong protocol and laughing when he corrected it or stubbornly refusing to believe him. It was good for short fusing pesking cores.

Chelldon shot another portal, knowing Wheatley wouldn't notice their gradual ascent.

It was all about finding that humanised killing machine now.

"GLaDOS? Why do we need him? He's terribly stuffy and murderous, yes, murderous, you do remember that he tried to murder us right? I don't really want to die. No new shiny bodies. We've just been over this." Wheatley did not want to see GLaDOS again. That droid was just plain rude to him...calling him all sorts of names, giving him difficult things to think about-- Not that Wheatley disliked difficult things.

He just...he had Chelldon to look after so he really couldn't divide his attention do much.

"And do I need to remind you about the neurotoxins? Awful stuff. I mean, I could bathe in it and be just fine, but you? Well no, technically you could as well but we'd had to leave that 'just fine' part off at the end!"

Chelldon shook his head and made a cutting gesture. "No power."

GLaDOS had been cut off from everything he had so it was easier to get to him now and then they would kill him later. All they had to do was to make sure they got rid of neurotoxins before they put GLaDOS in charge and then it would all be much easier to cope with instead of just trying to bring him down manually.

"Neurotoxin where?"

They could find it then surely they could just stop it or override the procedure or stop it. That way no one could ever use it on them again!

"The neurotoxin vault," Wheatley said, exasperated enough to add in the 'obviously' as a sigh before turning around again and blinking. How did they manage to get all the way up here? Remarkable. He obviously had been on autopilot because he was just that smart and good.

Beaming at himself, Wheatley was far more amicable when his ego was boosted and it showed. His smile was really rather fetching when he wasn't actually trying-- Or being creepy. He adjusted his glasses and leaned over the catwalk railing.

"In the fifteenth sub basement. Just by the neurotoxin control room. Let's get GLaDOS first. He has the over ride codes." And so does Tyler.

"Okay," he agreed before shooting a hole back into the testing area and very gently guiding Wheatley towards it without specifically telling him. More just hinting. And hinting was good hinting worked! It got them there and let Wheatley keep that pride he loved having so much.

It took three tries to get into the right testing area both without Tyler seeing them and without being caught.

They soon landed on a platform and just below them was the flailing form of GLaDOS. It seemed a bird had gotten in and was trying to peck his head off! Chelldon leapt down and scared the bird away by flapping his own arms.

He knew how to deal with birds... all thanks to Wheatley.

"Oh, ho, look at you. Not so smart now are you? No, no you're not. You're bird food!" And of course the bird, perhaps upon hearing it's name or title, decided to have a little fun dive bombing Wheatley. He stared, horrified, at the mess on his shoulder and would have fainted, had he been human or perhaps not fully charged. It was still terrible, terrible enough to leave him flailing.

"Off! Oh God, it's corrosive! I can feel it eating through my clothes! My skin is synthetic too! Help! Help! I'm going to be reduced to a bit of wire and human hair and glasses frames!"

Why he didn't think his hair or glasses would corrode? Well, no idea there. It just sounded good to whimper about.

It was a bird. Did a bird really scare the big bad machines that much. Moving closer, he sighed and swatted the bird till it got confused and took off to the ceiling. GLaDOS looked less than impressed as he turned his head to the two bumbling fools flailing around each other to see if they had both survived a bird attack.

"I hope you're both very happy with yourselves. I knew you were made to do some stupid things but this has to be the worst. You are your pet subject have no idea what you've done."

Chelldon merely frowned before looking at Wheatley.

He was very lucky that odds were that Wheatley would never connect the dots nor would he work out that he was made to be a giant moron... Chelldon didn't want to break that illusion for him either.

"At least Tyler's not trying to kill us. And actually, actually, putting him in charge is pretty practical. For instance, he's managed to teach Chelldon all sorts of protocols and you should see how he manages to recite them." Oh yes, Wheatley was once again proud for absolutely no reason at all, and worse, proud of something that really wasn't true.

He still wanted to keep the lime light for himself, so tacked on a: "I've managed to prepare him quite well for his lessons," at the very end of that, somewhat muttered because he didn't want to be a glory hog.

"And all you've done is taught us about smashing plates and neurotoxins!"
