To be fair, it was a punch and then a very manly hug from the chief but after that he got a very stern warning about hugging and making them look gay. Chelldon didn't know what they were doing frankly, he found even the idea of friendship a bit baffling sometimes. He just followed Wheatley along like a loyal subject because to him, that was the gist of what he thought friendship was.

He had never really had a friend, it was solely Wheatley and Walter for him, everyone else just sort of existed around him and nothing more.

Wheatley was special, he wanted to keep him close by because he really did have great affection for the useless moronic core that was his own. He was not smart, clever, useful or anything like that but he was a nice guy.

Chelldon wasn't used to nice. "Go left."
